Brand Collaborations

Karl Lagerfeld & Coca-Cola light.

Karl Lagerfeld did his first collaboration with Coca-Cola light in 2011. The drinks collection was launched at Harvey Nichols both in store and online on May 16th 2011. He brought out 3 exclusive designs for the iconic diet coke bottle (seen below).

Lagerfeld's designs included his trademark style using a contrasting black and white palette, graphic cuts and clean lines broken up with bursts of colour, This making a fun, playful and easily recognised collection.

Refering to his collection for Coco-Cola light in 2010, Lagerfeld said "I love this bottle but it's time for a new one. Actually I want to do 3 bottles". He also added, "I loved what we did last year but I will love 2011 even more. I'm delighted about this collaboration".

I think that the exclusive bottle designs were fun, quirky and reflected Lagerfeld's trademark perfectly and in a way that made carbonated drinks almost become a fashion statement.

Stella McCartney& Adidas.
SS14 collection
Stella McCartney collaborated with sportswear brand Adidas for the Spring/Summer 2014 collection. The collection was made up of geometric designs, all of which were entirely unique, fashion forward as well as fit for purpose.

After nine years of collaborations together, McCartney finally launched her first 'Stella McCartney for Adidas' store in the US. The 'green' garments reflected her concerted effort to save our environment.

I am a big fan of this particular collaboration as I feel McCartney really presents the idea of both practical and plush sportswear in which any shape or size can feel comfortable in. The idea of promoting a 'green' environment also adds a more personable element to the collection as not only is it reflecting an issue that the designer personally believes in, but also helps to get consumers on board with both the collaboration collection and her own personal collection as she is being interpreted as a down to earth designer who is not completely negligent to the problems that are surrounding her.
