Scatter my Ashes at Bergdorfs

Scatter my Ashes at Bergdorfs is a documentary on the Manhattan department store with interviews from an array of fashion designers, style icons, and celebrities.

The documentary allows the audience to have a sneak peek behind the scenes of one of the fashion industries most influential stores. We get to find out untold stories behind the brand from store workers, celebrities and designers and are welcomed into the stores history as though we are part of the family.

Top personal shopper Betty Halbreich, who helps select celebrities’ clothing for personal wear, TV shows and movies, is entertainingly whitty and appears to have no filter when speaking to people! David Hoey, who designs Bergdorf’s extravagant and memorable window displays, provides the documentaries base as he visits artisans’ workrooms in Gotham, monitoring progress on the varied mosaic, paper, wood and metal components for his whimsical Christmas 2011 windows, elaborate variations on “Carnival of the Animals.”
Although the documentary seemed somewhat staged, I found it interesting to watch from start to finish as I enjoyed getting a feel for Bergdorf Goodman and what they, as a brand stand for and how they upheld their perfect ethos.
