As part of the 'Next Big thing' brief, I am constantly on the look out for new and upcoming brands. The other day I stumbled across Jayde L Jeffries on Instagram and quickly discovered her own brand of loungewear titled "Jayde's Loungewear".

Brand owner Jayde Jeffries offers a proposition of everyday lounge and fitness wear made from new Italian yarn to which are then knitted and dyed in the UK. Her collections appear to be both comfortable and stylish with her growing popularity branching out to celebrities such as Rochelle Humes and Frankie Bridge from the girl band 'The Saturdays', as well as reality TV stars such as Lydia Rose Bright and Ferne McCann from The Only Way is Essex.

Jayde has created a brand for herself on social media sites such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. The way in which she has reached out to social media as the main source of selling her products shows that she is aware of the current market and her target consumer and how they are most likely to find her products.

I feel that Jayde's loungewear offers an engaging proposition that is entirely unique and something that has not been sold before. With the use of both formal and informal collections hand made in the UK, she offers a product that differentiates to anything else on the market at the moment, something that I feel to be a very refreshing and exciting new venture that has the potential to be very successful in the future.

Kim Kardashian for LOVE Magazine

As a Kardashian mega fan, I'm always finding myself researching what the Kardashian clan are up to, so it came as quite a surprise when I saw that Kim Kardashian was the cover for LOVE magazine's February 2015 issue. At first, the most famous Kardashian is almost unrecognizable without her trademark contoured to perfection makeup and sleek hair. The way in which the reality TV star has been styled in a clashing co-ord and OTT faux fur collar majorly contradicts her usual on trend, fashion conscious outfit choices to which we are used to seeing her in.

Although I must say I feel as though it is a breath of fresh air to see the reality TV star in a completely contrasting look to what she normally goes for. I feel that it portrays the idea that she is serious about her desire for fashion and is willing to take risks and see how far she can take it, in this case to the extent at which Kim is almost unrecognisable!

I am all for the Kardashian success and feel that Kim Kardashian was a very clever choice of cover girl by LOVE magazine as they know that it will get them the attention that they deserve due to the controversial choice. They know that whether the publicity over the cover be good or bad, people will continue to talk about it for a while to come.

Scatter my Ashes at Bergdorfs

Scatter my Ashes at Bergdorfs is a documentary on the Manhattan department store with interviews from an array of fashion designers, style icons, and celebrities.

The documentary allows the audience to have a sneak peek behind the scenes of one of the fashion industries most influential stores. We get to find out untold stories behind the brand from store workers, celebrities and designers and are welcomed into the stores history as though we are part of the family.

Top personal shopper Betty Halbreich, who helps select celebrities’ clothing for personal wear, TV shows and movies, is entertainingly whitty and appears to have no filter when speaking to people! David Hoey, who designs Bergdorf’s extravagant and memorable window displays, provides the documentaries base as he visits artisans’ workrooms in Gotham, monitoring progress on the varied mosaic, paper, wood and metal components for his whimsical Christmas 2011 windows, elaborate variations on “Carnival of the Animals.”
Although the documentary seemed somewhat staged, I found it interesting to watch from start to finish as I enjoyed getting a feel for Bergdorf Goodman and what they, as a brand stand for and how they upheld their perfect ethos.

Celine - SS15

Celine's Spring/Summer 2015 collection is full of clean cut A-symmetric shapes which correspond with their trademark neutral colour palette...amazing!!

Crussh - Fit food and Juice bars

Looking outside of the box at brands that could be 'The next big thing' I decided to look into the health market as it is an area that I am very interested in.

I felt that Crussh differentiated from every other healthy food outlet out there as they appear to make healthy eating seem like an exciting prospect rather than a chore.

"Making food ‘healthier, tastier and easier’ is at the very heart of everything that Crussh does. A constant innovator and leader of healthy food trends, Crussh is often imitated. Known for its signature healthpots, zero noodles and green juices, Crussh is the destination of choice for anyone with an interest in healthy eating. All juices are freshly pressed, smoothies are made-to-order in every store, and the range of ‘fit food’ is handmade every day in Crussh’s own kitchen".

The way in which they reach out to a more sophisticated consumer I feel is what differentiates them to other brands who are offering a similar product. Crussh use a neutral colour scheme within both the brand design of their shops as well as their packaging, this being something that is refreshing after seeing one too many brightly coloured juice bottles on super market shelves.

Nancy's Nails

nancys nails scented nail polish

After watching Nancy's Nails take off on a previous episode of Liberty of London, I decided to look into the brand further to see if it could possibly be 'The next big thing'.

Nancy's Nails was a brand discovered at one of Liberty's open call auditions in London. The product offers a unique proposition with its use of scented over coats for nails. The top coats retail for £15.00 per bottle and come in 3 different flavours Strawberry, Vanilla and Mango and Lime- a flavour to suit any personality!

Although some what childlike, the scented top coats have been a huge success and has introduced Liberty into a whole new market.

However, despite the brand offering a new and engaging proposition, I can't help but feel that the scented top coats will be forgotten about in a years time. However unique and exciting it may be, I personally feel as though the product belongs in a lower market retailer for a younger consumer such as Claire's accessories, as I feel it better co-ordinates with the products being sold in the store and not so much towards the more sophisticated clientele of Liberty.
